These <strong><em>festivals </em></strong>reflect the rich and varied cultural heritage of the island and are a part of its fundamentals when it comes to celebrating some events of their history.  <a href="http://www.wwwmaldives.com" target="_self"><strong><em>The Maldives</em></strong> </a>celebrates various <em><strong>festivals</strong></em> all over its islands . The <strong><em>Kuda Eid</em><em> festival</em></strong> is one of the most important <strong><em>festivals </em></strong>celebrated by the Muslims in <a href="http://www.wwwmaldives.com" target="_self"><strong><em>the Maldives</em></strong></a> since the majority of the Maldivian population is covered by the Islamic community. An official procession is paraded out during this event with various games and musical performances held in the island by the local community. The <strong><em>Kuda Eid festival </em></strong>is a 3-day long celebration which marks the end of the Ramadan, which is the Islamic month of fasting. During the <strong><em>Kuda Eid festival</em></strong>, the people dress their best clothing and embrace each other wishing &#8220;Eid Mubarak&#8221;, which means &#8220;blessed <strong><em>festival</em></strong>&#8220;. Traditional dances called &#8220;Bodu Beru&#8221; are participated upon by the local people in the rural islands. The <strong><em>Kuda Eid festival </em></strong>is celebrated with much fun and frolic. Another important festival celebrated in <strong><em>the Maldives </em></strong>is the Independence Day, wherein the community arranges various processions and functions. The children and the National Security Services of<strong><em> <a href="http://www.wwwmaldives.com" target="_self">the Maldives</a></em></strong> hold parades during the 26th day of July, which is the day when the Republic of Maldives was liberated. Other holidays celebrated in <strong><em><a href="http://www.wwwmaldives.com" target="_self">the Maldives</a> </em></strong>are the Huravee Day, The birthday of Prophet Mohamed, Republic Day, Victory Day, and also Christmas and New Year&#8217;s day.
