To start off with learning the Maldivian culture, the National Museum could be the first stops of your tour around the Maldives.
The National Museum is located at Sultan Park, Male. It was opened in 1952 by Mohamed Amin Didi, who served as the Prime Minister during that time. The National Museum exhibits historical artifacts and royal antiquities during the Pre-Islamic era. A coral head of Buddha could be found in the museum which is also one of the main attractions visited mostly by the tourists. There are also various kinds of textile collections and historical thrones that greatly reflect Maldivian culture.

The Presidential Palace is just a few minutes walk from other cultural attractions in Male. The palace serves as the official residence of the President of Maldives. With its diverse structure, The palace also serves as venues for receptions during special occasions hosted by the President. The offices of the President and some of the officials of the Maldives could also be found in the Presidential Palace.

Hukuru Miskiiy is also one of the Maldivian cultural attractions that could also be located at the Maldives capital, Male. The Hukuru Miskiiy is the oldest mosque in the country which was established in the year 1656. It was set up during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim Iskandhar I. This mosque is known for its fine woodcarvings and lacquer work which could be found in the interior and exterior walls that were built with coral stones. Various ancient tombstones are also erected in this compound.
